Jennifer, or Jenna as her friends know her, has many interests, especially music and books. No surprise, then, that she sings and writes! She's finally reached the end of her undergraduate days at the University of Houston and has been working freelance as a writer and singer.
One of her majors was Italian, and she spent part of one summer in the lovely old Italian city of Sienna. A di Portinova Scholarship allowed her to study Italian at the University for Foreigners there. She had a wonderful time making new friends and touring the Tuscan countryside. Her big trip was to Venice, where she met up with an old friend also traveling in Europe that summer. You can see her photos of Palio in one of the photo albums on this site.
Just before the torrential rains of Allison hit Houston, someone slashed the top of Jenna's old Miata while she was visiting at school. Jenna thought you'd enjoy these pictures of her rather novel solution leaking top. It worked quite well during the first onslaught where we got about 7 inches of rain in one night. Fortunately, we were able to get the top fixed before the next round of rain arrived a few days later, when Allison circled around and came back to clobber the city for a second time.
Jennifer loves reading Food and Wine magazine and trying out new recipes, but even better is trying out food at new restaurants or enjoying it at the old favorites. Some of her favorite restaurants in Houston are: Ibezia's, Charivari, India's, Farrago's, Mark's, Golden Hunan, Patronella's, and Cafe Jadeite.
